BRIEF HISTORY - by Craig W. Ispas, Founder
I started CWI construction in 1979, in the Ashland /Medford area of southern Oregon. Starting out as a home repair company and growing into a construction company within two years.
In those first two years, I refurbished three gas stations into convenience markets and built out numerous remodels and additions. In 1981, I moved to Manhattan Beach in southern California and added JIMCO Concrete Pumping to CWI Construction. I performed work in the LA area, throughout Malibu Beach, Huntington Beach, Beverly Hills and Pacific Palisades. My time working while residing in Manhattan Beach provided important commercial and residential experience.
I relocated to Fallbrook, California, the avocado capitol of the world, in 1987. Moving from the city to the country in southern California was a breath of fresh air. I began to build custom homes as well as spec houses on acreage. As a hands-on proprietor, I built homes from the foundation up, doing all the trades myself, along with my crews. I stood behind my work. When times were good I organized my subs and when times were bad I did the work myself. I enjoy helping people develop their property and building the perfect home for their lifestyle, so it was the perfect job for me. The lasting relationships made and expertise gained during this period of my life is beyond price.
It was a difficult decision to leave Fallbrook, but in 2012 my wife, daughter and I returned to Oregon, to enjoy our family and the quality-of-life Oregon presents. We chose Bend — God’s country. Central Oregon offers so much beauty of the outdoors and is a wonderful community in which to live, and we are near family. We look forward to developing relationships, developing property and building custom homes here, as we have enjoyed doing for so many years in Fallbrook. Central Oregon is our home now and we are excited to help others make it theirs, too.

I am dedicated to construction; it is my job, my hobby and an important part of my life. I approach every project from an artisan perspective and realize that each undertaking requires a unique solution. I believe it is important to develop property to its full potential. I hold a general contractors license in Oregon and *California and have hands-on experience with several construction trades, including electrical and plumbing in California. I consider understanding my clients and their vision for their property paramount. I have always worked close with architects and have built homes that have exclusive designs, which have provided me the experience to accept distinctive projects.
My skill set and knowledge, combined with hard work and dedication, ensures each project is a smooth building experience and a success.

*Oregon is our home now, it is where we will build our DREAM HOME. However, we will remain licensed in CA so we can continue to take care of our clients that have trusted us over the years. It is a must, in our view.

In 1996 we selected Craig Ispas to be our contractor for the home we were building in Fallbrook. It turned out to be a very fortunate selection. Craig proved himself to not only be capable, but extremely honest in all his dealings with us. He surrounded himself with good workers and when an occasion arose where there was a problem, he would see that it was corrected even if it meant doing the work himself to get it done properly.
Since our home has been completed Craig has made himself available to us when we have had a question. We are one of the fortunate ones that have said it was fun building our house! And Craig truly helped make it a good experience. We would be happy to have dealings with Craig Ispas anytime the occasion might arise and we feel he is an honest and capable man.
